I highly recommend Ben and the Beginner's Pistol Class with Sound of Freedom. Ben is an outstanding instructor who made me feel comfortable and confident handling a pistol from the very beginning. He built a strong foundation by teaching firearm safety, basic gun knowledge, proper grip, stance, and shooting techniques. During the live-fire portion of the class, he took the time to observe each student individually, offering clear, encouraging feedback on what we were doing well and what we could improve. As someone who understands that some beginners may have little to no firearm experience—or even past traumatic experiences involving firearms—I especially appreciated Ben's patient, calm, and supportive teaching style. He never rushed anyone and created an environment where learning felt safe and empowering. If you've never handled a firearm before or you're looking for a knowledgeable instructor who truly cares about teaching safe, responsible gun ownership, I can't recommend Ben and Sound of Freedom enough.

If you looking to purchase a firearm, I highly recommend looking at Sound of Freedom. They are great to work with. I purchased a firearm from S.O.F from their on-line store. Being out of state and working with my local shooting range, that is under new ownership, the local FFL certificate approval process from the state took longer than expected due to the holiday. I took the beginners class with my son. I personally didn’t learn too much but my son learned a lot and I think it was a great experience and something everyone should take. Ben was great with teaching my son. I would recommend.
